——仁炟法师朝礼九华山缘起
In a winter night, 2005, Venerable Master Renda, who just accomplished his worship journey (kowtow every three steps) to Wutai Mountain, shared the sweets and bitters of this journey with his disciples in the shabby office. Thousands and thousands of words were all about thankful and return the favor. Grateful to Avalokitevara Bodhisattva who guild him into Buddhism, grateful to Earth Treasure Bodhisattva who saved his life, grateful to Buddhas, Bodhisattvas and Dhammapalas’ bless. As a former scientist, Venerable Master Renda converted to Monk to return the favor of Buddha. To return the favor, blood was withdrawn from his vein to write millions word of the buddhist scriptures. To return the favor, he kowtowed in every three steps to Wutai Montain. To return the favor he constructed the Monastery, settled down the Monk and propagated Dharma.
2002年，仁炟老法师发大心，行大愿，在一片废墟之上，开始修复建设山东省博山正觉寺这座有着1600多年历史、对佛教在中国的传播和发展产生过深远影响的禅宗祖师道场。
In 2002, Venerable Master Renda made a great vow to restore Shandong Boshan Zhengjue Monastery on a wasteland. This monastery is one of the founders of Chan and had 1600 years history. It had far-reaching influence on Buddhism propagation in China.
修建寺院谈何容易！资金匮乏，人单力薄，修复建设困难重重。为了修复博山正觉寺，老法师殚精竭虑、事必躬亲。 望着清冷简陋的博山正觉寺，祖师道场何时修复，何时再次成为修行的乐土、佛子的家园，何时才能祖庭重辉？就在这个冬夜，年过花甲的老法师又一次发大誓愿，祈求诸佛菩萨加持：如果五年时间基本建成博山正觉寺，老法师就三步一叩朝礼九华山，以报佛恩！
Building a monastery is not an easy job. Not enough money, resource and people, making the construction even harder to complete. To restore Boshan Monastery, Venerable master Renda exert all his strength and wisdom. He looked at the shabby and quiet Zhengjue Monastery, he started to wondering when could the birthplace of the Chan could be restored, when could it be the place for practicing and home for monks again, when could it shine again? Right in that moment, he made another vow and prey for blessing from Buddhas and Bodhisattvas: if the essential parts of the Boshan Zhengjue Monastery could be completed in five years, he will worship Jiuhua Mountain by Kowtowing every three steps to thank the blessing from Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.
五年过去了！2011年，迈入古稀高龄的仁炟老法师，为报佛恩，履行誓愿，又要开始三步一叩千里朝拜九华山的头陀之行。弟子们心疼年迈的恩师：正觉寺的建设只是初具规模，离基本建成还有很大的距离，师父不必履行“三步一叩朝礼九华山”的誓言。老法师严辞：不能和佛菩萨讲条件！博山正觉寺没有投资和大施主，如果不是诸佛菩萨、龙天护法的加持佑护和十方善信的慷慨布施，短短的五年，何以从一片废墟变成一片庄严的建筑群！
Five years past, in 2011, in order to thank Buddha and Bodhisattva’s kindness, seventy years old Venerable Master Renda decided to fulfill his promise to worship Jiuhua Mountain by kowtowing in every three steps. His disciples were care for him and trying to persuade their old mentor: the construction of Zhengjue Monastery only began to take shape, it was far away than completing the essential parts, so you do not need to fulfill the vow yet. Venerable Master Renda firmly rejected: One should not bargaining with Buddha and Bodhisattva. Zhengjue Monastery did not have any investor or sponsors. Without Buddhas, Bodhisattvas and Dhammapalas’s blessing and believer’s donation, how could wasteland turned into a group of buildings in only five years.
2011年农历二月二十一日，普贤王菩萨圣诞， 70岁高龄的仁炟老法师将从山东省博山正觉寺起香，履行三步一叩千里朝拜九华山的宏愿。
On February 21st, 2011 (lunar calendar), the birthday of Samantabhadra Bodhisattva, seventy years old Venerable Master Renda will light incense in Shandong Boshan Zhengue Monastery and fulfill his great vow of worshiping Jiuhua Mountain by kowtowing every three steps.

老法师在寺院繁忙的建设中，提出“团结起来，在修行中建寺，在建寺中修行，我们和正觉寺一起成长”的修行理念，坚守“讲团结、讲修行、讲奉献、讲和谐、不说是非、不听是非、不传是非、不打妄语”的正觉寺八大根本戒规；秉持“严守戒律、兼收并蓄、地藏华严、禅净教律”等禅净圆融的修法心要；坚持“参诵金刚、修持大悲、耳根圆通、一行三昧”的修持方法；勤于正觉日课的鞭策督导；带领弟子和广大信众以戒为师、秉持正法、精进修行，在正觉寺的建设中历事炼心、修福修慧......
During the busy construction of monastery, Venerable Master Renda proposed following practice philosophy: unite together, construct monastery in practising Buddhism, practise Buddhism while constructing monastery. Grow together with Zhengjue Monastery. Additionally, strictly followed the eight fundamental precepts: unite together, value real cultivation, as well as the spirit of dedication and harmony, do not discuss, listen to or spread other people’s gossip and abstain from false speech; Uphold the crucial rules for practicing the perfection and harmony of Chan and Pure Land schools “strictly follow the percepts, absorb essence of different Buddhism sects, Recite Sutra of Earth Treasury Bodhisattva and the Flower Adornment Sutra, Absorb the profoundities of various schools of Chan, Pure Land, Teachings and Vinaya” . Persisted in practices Buddhism through “Investigate and recite the Vajra Sutra, practices Compassion mantra, explore the perfection of the enlightened nature of hearing, undertake the One-practice of Samadhi”. Diligently supervised the daily work of Zhengjue Monastery, guide disciples and believers to perceive precepts as teachers, uphold proper Dharma, practice diligently, tame the mind via experiences, and accumulate both blessings and wisdom in cultivation.

Dear believers, currently, the restoration of Boshan Zhengjue Monastery is still severely short of money and resources. The management of Monastery and propagation of Buddhism need more talented personnel. Let’s follow Venerable Master Renda’s steps to be grateful, return the favor, make the promise and fulfill the vow. To restore the birthplace of Chan, carry Buddhism forward. Let’s prey for the peace of our country and people, and prey for the long live of Buddhism Dharma.

附： 仁炟法师，1942年生，早年毕业于天津轻工业学院，教授级高级工程师，主攻食品生物化学，被国家人事部、国家科委认定为我国“豆制品跨世纪学科带头人”。1992年，仁炟法师在北京法源寺能行长老（临济宗第四十五代传人）座下皈依佛门，尔后出家；2000年在佛门泰斗本焕老和尚（临济宗第四十四代传人）座下受具足戒。2002年，仁炟法师率众开始修复建设禅宗祖庭山东省博山正觉寺。
P.S. Venerable Master Renda was born in 1942. He graduated from Tianjin University of Science & Technology（renamed in 2002), the professor level senior engineer, was majoring in food biochemistry. He was selected as “leader of cross-century soy bean products” by national human resource and the state science and technology commission. In 1992, he converted to Buddhism under Venerable Master Nengxing in Beijing Fayuan Monastery (the 45th generation descendent of the Linji). A while after that he became a monk. In 2000, he was ordained under the most respected Venerable Master Benhuan（the 44th generation descendent of the Linji）. Since 2002, he started to lead the restoration of Shandong Boshan Zhengjue Monastery, which is one of the birthplaces of Chan.
